KELLIE PHIPPS
Mayor Phipps is Taylorsville's second female mayor, currently serving her first term of office. She is dedicated to finding solutions to economic and infrastructure development.
It's that time of year again, the temperatures are getting SLIGHTLY cooler, the days are getting shorter, it must be fall, ya'll! With the change in seasons also comes an increase in outdoor activities. Here's just a few of the events going on in Taylorsville over the next few weeks!
"Nothing Sweeter Than a Tartar Homecoming" October 24th-26th It's time for you to find your way back home to Taylorsville for some good Tartar football! Our homecoming parade will take place on Wednesday, October 24th, beginning at 4PM. The parade will begin at Taylorsville High School, head south on Hester Street, then turn left on Eaton Street. The parade will then pass down Main Street before ending back at the school. Following the parade, there will be a community pep rally in the City Park. Friday nights are best spent under the lights in Taylorsville, and that is true this week as well as the Taylorsville Tartars take on Clarkdale to finish out the regular season of football. Pre-game homecoming festivities begin at 6PM, with kickoff afterwards at 7. Boo in the Park October 30th Everyone is welcome to join the Town of Taylorsville, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Mayor's Youth Council for our first ever Boo in the Park! A family-friendly alternative to traditional trick-or-treat activites, this event is sure to please both parents and the kiddos alike! There will be fun, games, and of course, candy! Did we mention it's free? Grillin' and Chillin' 2018 November 3rd Grillin’ & Chillin’ is back for 2018 with free admission! Come be a part of Smith County's largest block party and check out our awesome car show, enjoy some delicious BBQ, shop our arts & crafts vendors, and snack your way through our food vendors! Entertainment will feature Clinton Hayman, Fordie Hayes, Dead End Circle, and Travis Clark! Gates open at 8:00AM. So with all these events, there's no excuse for you not to get out in the community and enjoy what Taylorsville has to offer! As mayor, I encourage every resident to try one of these events and see what our community offers! I hope to see you out and about! All the best, Mayor Phipps

I have been asked if Boo in the park is taking the place of the scheduled trick-treating in Town. Could you please let everyone know if Boo is taking the place of the 6-8 norman trick treating in town.
